Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is trying to convince Israel to let exiled organization heads in Syria return to the Palestinian territories, in order to keep Damascus from using them to interfere with Palestinian affairs, Israel Radio quoted Al-Quds al-Arabi as reporting on Tuesday.

Palestinian sources told the newspaper that Abbas would make the request of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
